City Hallways (Nov. 28) Talk of the Hertel Avenue Dash's expansion

Heard on Hertel

Still nothing official on the expected Dash's Hertel Avenue expansion, but I've heard from two sources now that plans will be submitted to City Hall soon.

I was also told the plan isn't in response to the Lexington co-op satellite that will be opening down the street. Instead, I was told, Dash's has wanted for a while now to build a signature store in Buffalo.

Remember the plan once talked about for Kenmore Avenue? The Kenmore store, of course, never happened. The Kenmore Avenue building is now a storage facility.

So Hertel would become the signature Buffalo store.

After I heard all this talk in City Hall, I stopped in the Hertel Avenue Dash's recently and was chatting with some employees, who told me the same thing.

Dancing in the dark

I was looking through the Council agenda for tomorrow and noticed more requests than normal for restaurant dance licenses:

*228 Franklin St., Mes Lounge

*732 Hertel Ave., Roaming Bisons Tavern

*454 Pearl St., Cuba Roja
