Marjorie D. Castillo, 48, of California Street, and Carlos Moreno-Quinones, 38, of Genesee Street, were arrested by Buffalo police on Normal Avenue about 12:06 a.m. Wednesday after they allegedly broke a window to get out of the basement of a home in the 800 block of West Avenue they were accused of burglarizing.
The owner told police he returned home, heard both in the basement and locked the door to the basement. The two suspects managed to break a window, escape and get into their car, only to be arrested on Normal, according to a police report.
Both were charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree criminal mischief and seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance for having crack cocaine and a glass pipe, according to police.
Castillo was also charged with second-degree promoting prison contraband when she was found to have a clear baggie of crack cocaine as she was being processed for jail. Both suspects were sent to the Erie County Holding Center.
