Four mumps cases confirmed at SUNY Geneseo

Four students at SUNY Geneseo were found this week to have the mumps,

According to a statement on the college Website, the four affected students had received the recommended two measles/mumps/rubella vaccine doses. The college noted that a second vaccine does does not guarantee immunity.

The college reported that the few students who had never been immunized were required to leave campus for minimum of 26 days. The campus is not under quarantine, but the college advises anyone who has not been immunized against mumps to exercise caution about visiting for events.
