LEWISTON -- A Newfane man, 24, was arrested at about 10 a.m. Wednesday by Niagara County sheriff deputies and Lewiston police officers, following an investigation of an alleged social media threat against the Niagara-Wheatfield High School in the Town of Lewiston, authorities said.
Sheriff James R. Voutour said Joseph M. Pyc is accused of making the threat on Tuesday.
Pyc was charged Wednesday with a felony count of second-degree criminal solicitation, according to authorities.
His bail was set in Lewiston Town Court at $500 cash or $1.000 property. He faces further court proceedings on Nov. 30 at 6 p.m.
The specific nature of the alleged threat was not disclosed by the Niagara County Sheriff's Office or the Lewiston Police Department.
