Gowanda men prosecuted in methamphetamine cases

LITTLE VALLEY  --  Two Gowanda residents appeared before Cattaraugus County Judge Ronald D. Ploetz last week  in separate cases involving methamphetamine.

Ryan Pisa, 38, was placed on probation for  five years being convicted of  felony  attempted third-degree unlawful manufacture of methamphetamine. He was arrested with laboratory equipment and chemicals to make meth, authorities said.

Dennis G. Mitchell, 28, waived grand jury proceedings and pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal possession of methamphetamine manufacturing material and third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance for incidents in the Town of Persia on Dec. 21 and Sept. 5. He faces sentencing Jan. 17.

Also sentenced was  Lucas Burdic, 23, of Delevan, who pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and second-degree criminal trespass for an attack in a Town of Yorkshire home on April 9. He faces sentencing Jan. 17.
