Town of Niagara man charged in Military Road bank robbery

NIAGARA FALLS - A Town of Niagara man was arrested Thursday night and charged with robbing a Military Road bank on Wednesday afternoon, the Niagara County Sheriff's Office said.

Authorities arrested Joseph Light, 27, at the Bit-O-Paris Motel on Niagara Falls Boulevard just before 8 p.m. Thursday, the sheriff's office said.

Light was charged with third-degree robbery and third-degree grand larceny in connection with the robbery of the Northwest Savings Bank, 4381 Military, at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday.

Sheriff's deputies and Town of Niagara police made the arrest. Light was arraigned in Wheatfield Town Court with bail set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond. Light is scheduled to appear in Niagara Town Court on Monday.
