Garden Notes: News of area clubs and events for Nov. 18-25, 2016

Orchard Park Garden Club will hold its Marketplace Sale from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the railroad depot behind the Orchard Park Library. Sale items will include Christmas crafts, terrariums and hypertufa containers, pantry items, garden art, fabric art, critter/bird feeders, dried flower arrangements, wreaths and swags. Profits from the sale will go toward college scholarships and Department of Environmental Conservation camp scholarships.

Smallwood Garden Club (SGC) will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in Williamsville United Methodist Church, 5681 Main St. (near Oakgrove), Williamsville. Club member Cindy Miranda-Woods will present a “Select and Create: Topiary Workshop.” Members will create dried hydrangea or boxwood topiaries. The club will provide supplies; members may want to bring their own jardinières for the completed project.

Cheektowaga Garden Club will meet at 6:45 p.m. Monday in the faculty dining room at Cleveland Hill High School, 105 Mapleview Road, Cheektowaga. Mark Yadon of Mischler's Florist and Greenhouses will present a program, “Holiday Plants.” Guests and new members are welcome.

Amherst Garden Club will hold its 21st annual scholarship luncheon, “Celebrate The Season,” at 11 a.m. Dec. 7 in Brookfield Country Club, Shimerville Road, Clarence. A raffle, boutique, Betty’s Cookie Bakery and door prizes will be featured. Call 836-5397.
