Google searches for "move to Canada" may have peaked last week after Donald Trump secured enough electoral votes to become the president-elect of the United States, but Canadian-based writers still think America's pretty great.
So great that the Toronto-based Canadian newspaper The Globe and Mail put together a list of their favorite U.S. travel destinations earlier this week, listing Western New York among them.
Books editor Mark Medley's ideal day trip includes a Bisons game at Coca-Cola Field, dinner at Pearl Street Grill, bar-hopping in Allentown and a late-night stop at Jim's SteakOut while arts editor Craig Offman enjoys Michael's Italian Restaurant in Niagara Falls.
But another bonus highlight: "You’re never far from the border, which is a good thing with Trump in charge," writes Medley. "I’m all for offering Buffalo the chance to join Ontario."
