TOWN OF NIAGARA -- A man walked into the Northwest Savings Bank branch at 4381 Military Road at about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday, handed a note to a teller, took an undisclosed amount of cash and fled into a nearby field, according to Town of Niagara Police Chief James Suitor.

The man was described as wearing jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt. No weapon was displayed, according to bank workers.

Town of Niagara police officers were joined in a search by state troopers, a K9 Unit of the Niagara County Sheriff's Office, Niagara County sheriff deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents.
