A Northumberland Avenue man was arrested on drug and weapon charges early Wednesday after he was pulled him over for reckless driving, reported Buffalo police.
Marquel Smith, 25, was stopped around 4:40 a.m. on East Delavan Avenue, police said. An officer noted an odor of marijuana and alcohol in the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded a loaded Smith & Wesson under the front passenger seat and a burning marijuana cigarette on the rear floor.
Also recovered were two plastic bags, one containing marijuana. Cocaine residue was found in the other.
Smith was charged with weapons possession, possession of a controlled substance, marijuana possession and numerous vehicle and traffic violations.
