Got any PB&J? Drive is on to help fill food pantries

LOCKPORT - The seventh annual Peanut Butter and Jelly drive, designed to help local food pantries fill their shelves with kid-friendly food, is under way through Dec. 10, director Sherrie Campbell said Tuesday.

The campaign has dozens of drop-off locations in Niagara, Erie and Orleans counties, plus one in Monroe County. Founder Peter P. Robinson said cash donations are not solicited - only jars of peanut butter, jelly and marshmallow fluff.

Niagara County legislators made their annual donation Tuesday, springing for more than 200 jars of peanut butter and jelly. The drive was founded in the Niagara County Courthouse by workers there, and since its inception, tens of thousands of jars have been donated.

The full list of drop-off sites is available at the Peanut Butter and Jelly Facebook page.
