NEW HUDSON – Two Allegany County men accused of leaving the scene of a crash switched seats inside their vehicle after they left the scene and were both charged with drunken driving Saturday, according to State Police.
State police and Cuba police responded to a crash on State Route 305 where a vehicle reportedly fled the scene. Cuba police stopped a vehicle matching the description of the one that fled at an unspecified location, according to the State Police.
Skyler M. Hall, 22, of Caneadea, was driving at the time police pulled the men over and he failed field sobriety tests, authorities said. Troopers determined the vehicle's passenger, Matthew M. Warren, 20, also of Caneadea, was driving at the time of the crash. Warren also failed field sobriety tests, police said.
After both were transported to the State Police's Amity barracks, Hall registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent, while Warren registered a BAC of 0.17 percent, police said.
Hall was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated, while Warren was charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Both are due in Cuba Town Court on Dec. 6.
