Thomas M. Luby, Past Commander American Legion Post 205


May 8, 1942 - November 8, 2016

Thomas M. Luby of the Town of Tonawanda died Nov. 8 following a brief illness. He was 74.

Born in Cocordia, Kansas, Mr. Luby grew up in Cheektowaga and graduated from Maryvale High School.

He returned to Tonawanda in 1965 following his service in the U.S. Navy and worked as a shipping clerk for Sears for 38 years.

Mr. Luby was a member and past Commander of the American Legion Brounschidle Post #205 in Kenmore and also served as Third Vice Commander.

He was a volunteer driver for the American Red Cross and also volunteered at Bingo at the VA Hospital through the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years the former Shirley Marrone; daughters Michele Kennedy and Cheryl Hellmig; son Thomas J. Luby; and four grandchildren.
