Sabres Notebook: Three sent to Amerks; auctions & more

When the Sabres have a few days between games, they occupy them by sending players to Rochester. The carousel continued Sunday.

Buffalo sent defenseman Justin Falk and forwards Nick Baptiste and Cole Schneider back to the Amerks. The Sabres’ next game is Tuesday in St. Louis, and uncertain injury statuses could force recalls Monday before Buffalo flies to Missouri.

Baptiste has two goals in 10 games with the Sabres, taking 10 shots while averaging 8:44 per night. Schneider has appeared in two games, recording one assist and four shots with 7:48 of ice time per game.

Falk, who replaced injured defenseman Dmitry Kulikov during the weekend’s two games against New Jersey, was minus-1 while skating 13:34.


Pegula Sports and Entertainment, the Sabres and Bills are combining to present the One Buffalo Community Award. The monthly winners will be individuals who go out of their way to positively impact the region. Community members can submit a nominee at

PSE and Buffalo’s teams will make a donation to the nonprofit organization of the winner’s choice.

"When we launched the One Buffalo initiative in 2014, we wanted to recognize individuals who make Western New York a better place to be," Sabres and Bills owner Kim Pegula said. “We are excited to spotlight community members who embody the meaning of One Buffalo by making a positive difference in their everyday lives."


The Sabres’ annual “Bowl-A-Rama” will return Dec. 11. The event, which will be held from 3:30-6:30 p.m. at Transit Lanes, pairs bowling teams will a Sabres player, alumni member or broadcast personality. Proceeds benefit the Sabres’ foundation.

The 21-and-over event will include auctions, prizes, live entertainment, food and an open bar. Five-player teams, which receive bowling shirts and tournament caps, can sign up for $1,250. Sponsorship opportunities are available for $2,500 or $5,000.

The “Ultimate Sabres Fan Experience” and ticket auctions are back. The “Ultimate Sabres Fan Experience” consists of two tickets in Section 111, Row 1; an opportunity to watch the pregame skate from the penalty box; a chance to watch players walk from the dressing room to the ice via the gold carpet; admission to coach Dan Bylsma’s postgame news conference; two Sabres hats; and free parking.

The experience for each home game is up for bid at, with proceeds benefiting the team’s foundation.

Also available at the auction website are tickets from the Sabres’ foundation and pairs that benefit the Buffalo Junior Sabres.
