Kayleigh Fratkin and Miye D’Oench scored third period goals for New York as the Riveters came back for a 3-2 victory over the Buffalo Beauts on Saturday at HarborCenter. The teams will complete their two-game series Sunday afternoon at 3:30 at Harbor Center.
Rebecca Russo gave New York (1-3) the first lead at 4:25 of the first. Corinne Buie’s power-play goal with assists Kourtney Kunichika and Lisa Chesson tied it for the Beauts (1-3) at 10:29 and Emily Janiga put Buffalo in front at 13:49 with Shiann Darkangelo assisting. Neither side scored in the second period. Then Fratkin cashed in on the power play at 7:41 and D’Oench got the game-winner with 1:33 left in regulation time with Fratkin and Ashley Johnston getting the assists.
Katie Fitzgerald of the Riveters made 26 saves while Brianne McLaughlin of the Beauts had 16 stops.
