North Tonawanda's Carnegie Art Center plans second annual fundraiser

NORTH TONAWANDA - The second annual "Art Off the Wall" exhibition and fundraiser will give art lovers a chance to purchase a piece of original artwork and support the Carnegie Art Center, 240 Goundry St.

"Art Off the Wall" opens on Dec. 1 and will feature original artwork donated by local artists, all priced to sell at $20 each to support the Carnegie Art Center.

For an extra $10 donation visitors can preview the event from 6 to 7 p.m. Early attendance also includes complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets may be purchased the day of the event. After 8 p.m. admission is free.

In 2015 "Art Off the Wall" marked the reopening of the Carnegie Art Center. The event raises funds for the center while also promoting the local art community.

All art is displayed without the artist's signature, which t could be the work of a new artist or an known artist. The works include sketches, as well as work in watercolor, acrylic, oil and collage.

The Carnegie Art Center, located in the historic structure built in 1904 at the City of North Tonawanda public library, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
