Wife of Bills' kicker offers contrite response to negative backlash from tweet

Kaela Carpenter, wife of Buffalo Bills kicker Dan Carpenter, attempted to walk back a tweet she posted Monday night in response to her husband getting hit in the knee by Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman.

Sherman jumped offside and then dived at Carpenter's right leg as he was attempting a field goal just before halftime of the Bills' 31-25 loss. The kicker was injured on the play, but officials did not flag Sherman for an unsportsmanlike-conduct penalty even though the NFL's head of officiating later said that should have been the case.

On Monday night, Kaela Carpenter tweeted an image of a castration device and a clear message that that was the form of punishment she wanted Sherman to receive. The tweet has since been removed from her Twitter page, but here is a screenshot:
