Man suffers minor injuries in gorge fall

LEWISTON - A man in his 50s was rescued from the Niagara River Gorge at Devil's Hole State Park Saturday night after a fall, State Parks Police said.

The unidentified man was in the gorge when he fell about 7 p.m., and called 911 himself, police said. He suffered what were described as minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Erie County Medical Center.

Lewiston police and volunteer firefighters assisted in bringing to the man to the top of the gorge.
