St. Bonaventure men's basketball product Marcus Posley was selected in the second round of Sunday's NBA Development League draft. Posley was taken 44th overall by the Sioux Falls Skyforce.
The Skyforce are an affiliate of the Miami Heat, one of 22 teams in the NBADL. The team is slated to begin its schedule on Nov. 12. Sioux Falls won the league championship last season.
Posley was the second-leading scorer in the Atlantic 10 at 19.6 points per game last season. He had 19 games of 17 or more points, including five 30-point games. He made 82 three-pointers to rank sixth in the A-10 in three-pointers per game (2.6). Posley, who was named to the A-10's All-Conference second team, also averaged 3.6 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 steals per game.
The Rockford, Ill., native scored 1,126 points over just two seasons with the Bonnies. He was a third team all-conference choice in 2014-15 after he averaged 16.7 points per game.
Posley's selection means both of the Bonnies' 2016 graduates have reached the professional ranks. Dion Wright is playing for the Sendai 89ers in Japan.
