Bemus Point man, 58, arrested on felony marijuana charge

BEMUS POINT -- James A. Gatto, 58, of Bemus-Ellery Road, has been arrested for allegedly growing marijuana at his home in a quantity that warranted felony charges, the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force said Monday.

The charges were made after an investigation, according to the drug task force authorities.

Gatto was charged with a felony count of third-degree criminal possession of marijuana and a misdemeanor count of unlawful growing of marijuana, according to authorities.

He has been issued appearance tickets for Ellery Town Court proceedings in several weeks, police said.
