Buffalo police reported a rash of car tire slashings overnight Friday on the city's West Side.
According to Northwest District officers, tires were slashed on about 50 vehicles in the area of Richmond and Bird avenues, Baynes Street and Manchester Place.
Detectives were canvassing the areas all day Saturday, going door-to-door to gather information and any neighborhood surveillance video that might be available. In the meantime, police have added additional patrols in these areas.
Residents or others with information about the tire slashings are being asked to call police at 851-4413, or call 911 immediately if they see any suspicious activity in progress.
