Collins has sacrificed his ethical standards
Chris Collins, our congressman, provided another example of “situational ethics” during his recent CNN interview, when he defended Donald Trump’s reversal from laudatory to critical comments about the White House performance of Bill and Hilary Clinton. Collins acknowledged Trump’s previous positive compliments provided on national TV, but rationalized them saying this was a Trump business necessity and not a reflection of his real assessment of their performance.
Using similar logic, I guess Collins’ endorsement of Trump should be interpreted as a “business decision” designed to protect his own self-interest. Fortunately for the United States of America, ethics still exist and not all of the “business leaders” are political opportunists willing to sacrifice their ethical standards.
