To ensure a safe Halloween night, Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown's office is asking residents to help promote the city's recommendation to cut-off trick-or-treating at 8 p.m.
Here are some tips.
-Display signs at your homes that explain that you won't be giving out candy after 8 p.m. Here are a couple of signs you can print and display on your front door.
-Don't turn off your lights and pretend you're not home.
-Have adults in your neighborhood patrol the area with flashlights in teams, while others sit outside on porches to keep an eye out for potential trouble. Call 911 if you see any suspicious activity.
