The Mallwalkers to share new record at Sugar City

If the dizzying number of Halloween-themed parties has you looking for an alternative form of entertainment, the Mallwalkers has you covered.

The West Side-rooted funk-punk collective is priming the release of its much awaited new album “Dial M For…” on Buffalo punk imprint Peterwalkee Records. And naturally, the stage-filling group has a proper party in the works to premiere the new batch of tunes at 6 p.m. Oct. 29 in Sugar City (1239 Niagara St.).

Earlier this month, the band - which includes two singers, a bursting horn section and even two drummers back in the outfit’s early days - shared a taste of the new record by debuting the album’s first single and accompanying video “No Pity (In the Funky City)."

Directed by audio/visual mind trippers Flatsitter, the slice of Rust-Belt eye candy pairs psychedelic visuals with the Mallwalkers’ brand of gritty and groovy punk.

Joining the nine-piece band will be a collection of Buffalo basement acts including Welks Mice, M.A.G.S., GUN CANDY and Trinkit, in addition to Sugar Citizen Pat Kewley.

The show is free. Further event details can be found here.
