Bona women picked 10th in Atlantic 10 poll

St. Bonaventure’s women’s basketball team was picked to finish 10th in the Atlantic 10 Conference this season.

Bona guard Mariah Ruff was a preseason third-team all-conference pick in a poll of coaches, released Tuesday.

Ruff is the only returning starter from last year’s team, which went 24-8 and went to the NCAA Tournament. Bona’s new coach is Jesse Flemming, who replaced Jim Crowley. The Bonnies’ season opens Nov. 11 at Niagara.

Ruff, a junior, averaged 10 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.8 assists last season.
