Atlantic Hockey honors two Canisius and two Niagara players for last week's performance

Two players each from Canisius and Niagara were honored Tuesday by Atlantic Hockey for their performances in games last week.

Sophomore forward Felix Chamberland of Canisius was named Player of the Week after he scored a power-play hat trick in a 6-3 victory over Robert Morris, He also had an assist in Saturday's 2-2 tie with Robert Morris.

Senior Charles Williams of the Griffs was Goalie of the Week after he made 59 saves for a .922 percentage in the two games against Robert Morris.

Two Niagara freshmen were singled out for their performances in three road games. Defenseman Tyler Hayes earned Travel Team USA Defensive Player of the Week while forward Derek Brown was named Rookie of the Week.

Hayes had two assists, blocked nine shots and had an even rating for the week as Niagara tied at RPI and lost at Mercyhurst and Union. Brown had a pair of goals and an assist in the three games as he took the scoring lead in Atlantic Hockey for the week.
