The Red Cross is helping six people Monday morning after a West Side fire caused an estimated $140,000 in damage.
Firefighters were called to 31 Dewitt St., between Auburn Avenue and Breckenridge Street, at 3:19 a.m., according to the Buffalo Fire Department Alarm Office.
The fire inside the large, 2 1/2-story home started on the second floor and extended into the attic, the alarm office said.
Five adults and one child were being assisted by the Red Cross.
No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
