Sandra C. Hope of Orchard Park, who taught over nearly four decades, died Monday following a short illness. She was 65.
Born Sandra Cipriani in Lackawanna, she attended Frontier Central High School. She received her bachelor's degree from Alfred State College and her master's degree from Canisius College.
She worked as a teacher for nearly 40 years. She was the internship coordinator for Lancaster High School as well as the coordinator for the Academy of Finance for Lancaster High School. Her work and program were celebrated by the Academy of Finance Advisory Board with the "Sandra Hope Internship Excellence Scholarship" which is awarded to students who have demonstrated their ability to connect learning in school to their internship as well as show personal and professional growth.
She is survived by her husband of 20 years Bill Gibson; a son Michael; a brother Joseph Cipriani and sister Joann Corlett.
