LEWISTON - A man in his early 20s was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center early Monday after sustaining a head injury falling out of the bed of a pickup on Walmore Road on the Tuscarora Reservation, Lewiston police said.

The incident happened in the 5100 block of Walmore, between Upper Mountain and Mount Hope roads, at about 1:41 a.m., Lewiston Police Chief Frank J. Previte III said.

The man's condition was not known on Monday morning.

There were at least four people in the truck at the time, Previte said. Police are still investigating several aspects of the incident, including whether the pickup was moving at the time the man suffered the head injury.
