LESKO, Melanie Rose (Rachlovits)

LESKO - Melanie Rose (nee Rachlovits) Age 92, of Jamesville, NY, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2016 at the Iroquois Nursing Home. Melanie was born in Hungary, raised in Humberstone, Canada, and resided most of her life in Kenmore, NY with her loving husband Albert Lesko. After moving to Jamesville, Albert and Melanie served as volunteers at the Iroquois Nursing Home when it first opened. Melanie was a devoted wife and selfless, caring and compassionate mother. She loved to garden but her utmost enjoyment was spending time with family and friends and the love of her life, Albert at their cottage in Canada. Melanie was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Albert Lesko of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Irene Rachlovits and Bertha Lusina; parents, Frank and Helen Rachlovits; brothers-in-law, Andrew Tarajos and Joseph Lusina, all from Ontario, Canada. Surviving are her daughters, Diane Prove (Gerry) of Fayetteville, NY, Catherine (David) Smith of Medina, NY and Donna DeGeorgis (Rocky) of South Boston, VA; five grandchildren; and many great and great-great-grandchildren; her loving sister, Helen; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff at the Iroquois Nursing Home for taking care of Melanie the last seven years. She was happy and comfortable to the end. Catholic services will be 12:00 PM Friday, October 28 at the Chapel in St. Mary's Cemetery, 4100 East Genesee Street, (main entrance) Dewitt.
