The Lackawanna City School District Saturday released results from the first round of lead testing conducted on potable water at five buildings: McKinley Administrative, Martin Road Elementary, Truman Elementary, Lackawanna Middle School and High School.
As a precaution, water sources with elevated levels of lead have been tagged and shut off, said Leonard F. Kowalski, president of the Lackawanna School Board of Education.
Follow-up testing is currently underway to determine the source of the lead, Kowalski said. All students and faculty will have access to safe water sources throughout each building.
