Mary J. Klycek, of Buffalo died Monday in Elderwood at Lancaster, following a short illness. She was 87.
The former Mary J. Wolowiec was born in Batavia, and attended Batavia High School. Following high school she continued her education at Villa Maria College.
She spent 35 years as a kindergarten teacher at Our Lady of Czestochowa in Buffalo, and received the Bishop Edward Head Outstanding Elementary School Teacher Award.
She was also active in the church community at Our Lady of Czestochowa, Catholic Charities and the PTA.
She was predeceased in 2004 by her husband of 57 years, Alfred T. Klycek Sr., and is survived by three daughters, Patricia Dunlop, Judith Quayle and Glorianne Angermeier; two sons, Alfred Jr. and Gerard; a sister; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Czestochowa.
