Two men accused of possessing loaded revolver, crack cocaine

Niquan V. Johnson, 24, of Southampton Street and Javon Hayes, 26, of Shirley Avenue were arrested Wednesday afternoon on weapon, drug and marijuana charges.

Buffalo police officers were investigating a call in the Masten Avenue and Eaton Street area when they saw a vehicle that resembled one they were told to look for. Officers followed that vehicle as it turned into the driveway of Johnson's home.

A loaded .38-caliber revolver was found under the front passenger seat of the vehicle, police said.

Crack cocaine and marijuana were found in the clothing of Hayes, according to a police arrest  report. A jar and a half marijuana blunt were found in the center console of the vehicle.

The vehicle was towed to the Police Garage on Seneca Street, and Johnson and Hayes were both charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon  and unlawful possession of marijuana. Hayes was separately also charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.
