Bills WR Robert Woods says X-rays were negative, but still in walking boot; Dareus 'working his tail off'

Bills receiver Robert Woods didn't practice Thursday and was still wearing a walking boot on his right foot, but said he's "full-go in rehab trying to get to play this weekend" against the Dolphins.

Woods said he had been playing through the foot injury for "a while," but hurt it worse while running a reverse in the second quarter Sunday against the 49ers.

Woods said he had an X-ray on the foot but was told there was no break. He hasn't tried to run on the foot since finishing Sunday's game but doesn't have any pain while walking.

"Still day-to-day," Woods said Thursday. "Just getting treatment and trying to get back as fast as I can."

If Woods can't go Sunday, the Bills receivers in Miami would be Marquise Goodwin, Justin Hunter, Walt Powell and Brandon Tate. Running back Reggie Bush could also be used as a slot receiver.

Woods said he has talked to Bills top receiver Sammy Watkins – who's on injured reserve trying to heal a foot that he had surgery on during the offseason – about "orthotics and cleats" but added that their injuries are "totally different."

Coach Rex Ryan said he didn't think "there’s a huge concern long-term" with Woods' injury.

The Bills' offense may already be depleted Sunday with LeSean McCoy reportedly out with a hamstring injury. Defensive tackle Marcell Dareus will likely miss the game as well.

"Trust me, he’s working," Ryan said of Dareus. "He’s working his tail off. He’s the first guy in the building a couple days in a row. So he’s working to get back on the field as fast as he can. Hopefully that’ll be Sunday. I don’t know if it will. But he’s working extremely hard."
