Reinstein Woods group kicks off Nov. 12 fundraiser for nature preserve programs

Friends of Reinstein Woods is hosting “Nature’s Gathering: An Evening of Art, Wine and Cheese,” a fundraiser open to the public on Nov. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Father Justin Knights of Columbus Hall, 2735 Union Road in Cheektowaga.

The event will raise funds to support environmental education programs  that Reinstein Woods performs in the community and at the Nature Preserve.

Featured is a  wine tasting from several area wineries while a local musician provides atmosphere. More than 25 Western New York artisans will display their nature-themed artwork and specialty items. The artisan market will include nature photography, jewelry, spice blends, and other unique products, all of which will be available for purchase.

“This is the seventh year artists and wineries have joined with us to create a unique evening of fine wine, creative art and fun interesting people,” said Friends’ President Mike Gettings. “We’re excited to connect the community to these local artisans the same way we connect people to nature through Reinstein Woods’ programs that this fundraiser supports.”

Local artisan cheese from Yancey’s Fancy and hors d’oeuvres will be served. Raffles will take place throughout the night.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $20 at the door. Tickets can be purchased at the Reinstein Woods Environmental Education Center, 93 Honorine Drive, Cheektowaga. Tickets may be purchased online at For more information, call 683-5959.
