Niagara's Victoria Rampado is preseason all-MAAC pick

Niagara forward Victoria Rampado was picked as first-team preseason all-star by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference coaches.

Rampado missed virtually all last season with a torn labrum in her shoulder. She averaged 12.6 points and 6.1 rebounds a game as a sophomore in 2014-15. She was a second-team all-conference pick that season.

Canisius was picked sixth and Niagara ninth in the preseason coaches poll, released Tuesday. Quinnipiac was picked to win the MAAC.

Last season Canisius finished eighth with a record of 8-12 in conference and 13-17 overall. Niagara finished ninth at 5-15 and 8-23.

Canisius guard Maria Welch and Niagara forward Kaylee Stroemple were named as third-team selections.

The first-team all-MAAC picks were: Iona guard Marina Lizarazu; Manhattan guard Amani Tatum; Niagara’s Rampado; Manhattan guard Aryn McClure; and Siena guard Kollyns Scarbrough. Lizarazu is the preseason
