Jealous husband sentenced in shooting over affair

A jealous husband was sentenced to 13 1/2 years in prison for shooting a man he believed was having an affair with his wife.

Isaiah Cormack, 29, of Buffalo was found guilty of first-degree assault in April in a nonjury trial before Erie County Court Judge Thomas P. Franczyk. Evidence showed Cormack confronted Brendan Crawford, 26, on Nov. 15, 2014 at a house party on Orange Street.

Crawford was shot once in the abdomen and was hospitalized for more than a month while being treated for his injuries.

Cormack fled the scene but was arrested a week later after a police chase that concluded with Cormack driving into a pond in Cheektowaga.
