A Springville man is accused of biting a disabled 65-year-old man, stealing his keys and then resisting arrest, according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
Sheriff's deputies and detectives charged Jeremy Bieber, 39, after they said he attacked and robbed the man in the victim's apartment building in Springville at about 11:45 a.m. Thursday.
Bieber was arrested in an adjacent apartment. He was charged with robbery causing physical injury, assault, criminal mischief, petty larceny, resisting arrest, criminal possession of stolen property and obstruction of governmental administration, the sheriff's office said.
He was arraigned Thursday and remanded to the Erie County Holding Center on $25,000 cash bail or $100,000 bond.
A deputy suffered a hand injury while trying to put the suspect in custody. That deputy is expected to make a full recovery, the sheriff's office said.
