Early bird pricing for the 121st Annual YMCA Buffalo Niagara Turkey Trot will expire Friday and the registration rate will jump from $35 to $40 per entry on Saturday, Y officials announced today.
The higher registration rate will stay in place until the race sells out or until Nov. 17, whichever comes first.
Race capacity is set at 14,000 for safety and organizational reasons.
Register online at ymcaturkeytrot.org.
Paper registration forms can be downloaded from the site but only being accepted through Friday, Y officials said. They encouraged participants save time by going green, since registration is the same in both cases.
The entry fee includes all processing fees and a commemorative T-shirt, as well as post-race gatherings at the Buffalo Convention Center and Statler City.
This year Turkey Trot starts at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 24, outside the Delaware Family YMCA, 2564 Delaware Ave.
Proceeds help make YMCA programs and services accessible to children and families at all YMCA Buffalo Niagara branches who would otherwise be unable to afford them. Last year, Y officials said, race participants helped the YMCA allocate nearly $1 million dollars in financial assistance to Western New York families in need.
