A 25-year-old man was arrested early Monday shortly after he was allegedly spotted walking out of the front door of a Herkimer Street house that had been burglarized, according to Buffalo police.
Orlando Colon, who has no listed address in Buffalo, was arrested about 12:10 a.m., according to Buffalo police.
The owner of the home in the third block of Herkimer told police officers he returned home and saw Colon carrying one of his dining room chairs out of his front door and confronted him. The two fought as police arrived, according to Buffalo police.
According to a police report, Colon broke a first floor rear window to get into the house.
Colon was charged with first-degree burglary, fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, according to Buffalo police.
Colon remained in custody at the Erie County Holding Center Monday night.
