A 41-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal bludgeoning of his mother Sunday in the victim’s home in the 1700 block of South Park Ave.
Buffalo police Monday identified the suspect as Froilan Torres, 41. The suspect struck the 57-year-old victim in the head several times with an unidentified object, according to Buffalo Police spokesman Michael J. DeGeorge. The mother was taken to Mercy Hospital, where she died.
South District officers arrived at the scene just after 5 p.m. and homicide detectives were summoned.
Torres was arraigned on a second-degree murder charge Monday morning in Buffalo City Court before Judge Kevin J. Keane. He’s due back in court on Thursday.
