Carolyn Hutchen and Duncan Kirkwood were married at 3 p.m. on Aug. 13, 2016, in Friendship Baptist Church. Guests gathered for a reception at Samuel’s Grande Manor in Clarence. Jermaine Hutchen, brother of the bride, heard the couple’s vows. The bride’s parents are Natalie and Phillip Hutchen of Buffalo. The bridegroom’s parents are Marvell and Iris Kirkwood of Buffalo. The bride, a graduate of Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, earned a bachelor’s degree in English education from Daemen College. She is an intake coordinator at Cazenovia Recovery Systems. The groom, a graduate of Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Alabama State University and also earned a master’s degree in public administration from Ashford University. He is a Western New York advocacy manager at the Northeast Charter Schools Network. After a trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple will make their home in Buffalo.
