An Orchard Park woman was arrested following a rampage Friday night at an Abbott Road home, police said.
Police responded to a call about 7 p.m. about an intoxicated, suicidal woman tearing up an Abbott Road home after she swallowed pills and attacked family members, Lt. Patrick Fitzgerald said.
After arriving at the house, police learned that Linda Kota, 30, had fled from the house and was “bleeding heavily,” Fitzpatrick said.
Fitzgerald and Officer James Putnam discovered Kota in a field off Parker Road in the Town of Hamburg after a search joined by Hamburg town police, Erie County Sheriff’s Air One and K-9 units.
When confronted, Kota placed her hand in her unbuttoned camouflage jacket and threatened to kill both officers, Fitzgerald said. Despite orders to drop to the ground, Kota advanced toward the two officers who used a Officers used a Taser to subdue her.
Cocaine was found in her jacket and she was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal mischief and resisting arrest, police said.
She was taken to Erie Countyt Medical Center for evaluation.
