It's been a beautiful fall so far, and it's only just begun. One thing is certain – there is no shortage of fall fun to be found. And this weekend might be the biggest and best all season long, with a variety of options and something for everyone.
10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Oct. 8 at Canalside
There is always something fun to do Canalside, but it really kicks it up a notch for this event. They’ll have a pumpkin patch, gourd painting, bounce house, a petting zoo and live entertainment. It’s all free, too.
Oct. 8 and 9 along Washington Street, Ellicottville.
This event will have you dancing in the streets. It is one of the oldest festivals around and they have perfected the fun. For starters you’ll get to see the amazing foliage bursting with color. Then, check out foods, an arts and craft show, carnival rides and live entertainment. This is a very family-friendly event.
Noon to 6 p.m. Oct. 8-9 at The Maize, 3901 Niagara Falls Blvd., Wheatfield
This is pretty much an event every weekend all month long. They have meet-and-greets with princesses and their ponies. You can also get a picture with your favorite super hero. There’s free face painting, balloon art, entertainment, games and story time. Call 523-3860.
Noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 8-9 at the Buffalo Zoo
The kids will have a blast as they make their way through the zoo in their Halloween costumes. They can enjoy trick or treat stations, hayrides, face painting and more. The event is included with zoo admission. Your little lion, tiger or bear will love it.
Noon to 5 p.m.Oct. 8-9 at Becker Farms, 3724 Quaker Road, Gasport
If you haven’t been to Becker Farms recently, you might be surprised at just how much they have going on. Kids will have a ball at this family friendly event. They can feed the animals, pick a pumpkin, take a hay rides or pony ride – they can even watch goat races.
Cost: $8 for kids, $5 for adults and includes all kid activities.
Enchanted Forest Walk
6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 7-9 at Beaver Meadow, 1610 Welch Road, North Java
Now this sounds fun. You and your kids can walk through the magical woods and meet the animals (portrayed by people in costumes) that call Beaver Meadow their home.
