One of the most plentiful grapes in our area is the Concord grape. Photographer Mark Mulville takes a closer look at The Growers Cooperative in Westfield NY. The co-op harvested its first crop in 1929. At that time the plant pressed about 400 tons at the rate of 2 1/2 tons per hour on two hydraulic presses. The Growers Cooperative Grape Juice Company is headquartered in the heart of the Lake Erie Concord Grape Belt, the oldest and largest Concord Grape growing region in the world.
