CALHOON, Richard J.

CALHOON - Richard J. Entered peacefully into rest October 2, 2016 in the care of Hospice with his family by his side. Richard was born in Rochester, NY and moved to Buffalo with his family as a young child. He enlisted in the Army in 1944 and served in Europe. He later became a tool and die maker. Richard worked for Whistler and Son's and then for Harrison Radiator retiring in 1986 In 1976 Richard and his wife, Norma, bought Calhoon's Pub where he soon became an icon in the community. Richard is best known for his positive attitude, kindness towards others and engaging conversations. Richard loved local music and could found at many local venues to watch the performances. He always expressed his appreciation with enthusiastic applauding. He had passion for his friends, live music and a cold beer. Richard was predeceased by his wife Norma, whom he loved with his whole heart. He is also survived by his daughter Amy Calhoon, (Tracy DeChambeau) grandchildren, Morgan (Tom Lang) Calhoon, Jeremy DeChambeau, Lauren DeChambeau and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. The best tribute for him is to live everyday to the fullest with zest, smiles and warmth as he did.
