Thruway stop leads to aggravated DWI charge for Buffalo woman

A Buffalo woman has a court date next week on an aggravated driving while intoxicated charge.

State Police pulled over Rachael L. Shank at 11:17 p.m. Thursday on the Niagara Thruway in Buffalo for speeding and other traffic violations, authorities said.

Shank, 29, was found to be intoxicated, State Police said, and she was taken to the Buffalo barracks. There, she registered a blood-alcohol content of 0.18 percent, police said.

Troopers released Shank to a sober third party with appearance tickets for Buffalo City Court on Oct. 11.
