The 25-year-old man killed Saturday on Sherman Street has been identified by police Curtis Byers of Buffalo.
Byers was shot several times around 2:30 a.m. in the 200 block of Sherman Street. He died at the scene, Buffalo police said.
Saturday’s killing was the second homicide this year on Sherman Street and Byers was among at least eight other people who have been shot this year on Sherman, according to a Buffalo News analysis of city police reports.
Laron Watkins, 21, died in a triple shooting August 4 on the 200 block of Sherman Street.
Sherman runs between Best and Howard streets about a half dozen blocks east of Jefferson Avenue.
