Lockport man charged with drug possession after running from police at Walmart

LOCKPORT – A Lockport man faces charges of drug possession, petit larceny and resisting arrest after he stole items from Walmart and ran from troopers, according to State Police.

Police responded for a larceny call at the South Transit Road store on Saturday. Jamil T. Alhorebi, 30, exited the store with stolen merchandise, according to State Police and was ordered to stop by troopers.

Alhorebi was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. He had cocaine and other narcotics in his possession, police said.

After being arraigned in Lockport Town Court, Alhorebi was remanded to the Niagara County Jail on $10,000 bail, according to State Police.
