Woman tells Town of Tonawanda police she’s OK after report of possible abduction

A woman thought to be the victim of a possible abduction Saturday morning in the Town of Tonawanda has been identified and verified her well-being, police reported Sunday.

Police responded about 11:20 a.m. to the Kwik Fill gas station at 2255 Military Road, where a woman was approached by a man in the parking lot, according to witnesses. Police learned the man argued with the woman as a minivan with an unknown driver waited nearby.

The man forced the woman into the van through its sliding side door, then also entered the vehicle and closed the door as the van drove off north on Military Road, police said.

Police asked for the public’s help and received several tips. The woman involved in the incident reported Sunday afternoon to the front desk of the Town of Tonawanda Police Department that she is in no danger and the incident was a “verbal domestic related matter,” police said.
